Ta’if Rose Honey

Ta’if Rose Honey

Ta’if, also known as the City of Roses, is situated in the province of Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The Damask rose and now famous Ta’if rose was imported during the Ottoman Empire and was officially documented in Makkah in the early 1800s. Currently around 900 rose farms produce more than 300 million flowers every spring. The harvest is distilled into some of the world’s most expensive perfume and rose water, some of which is even used by luxury brands such as Givenchy and Jimmy Choo (1).

Studies show that the chemical properties of Ta’if rose have various health benefits including antidepressant and antioxidant properties (2). Other pharmacological benefits of Ta’if Rose Honey include its ability to act as an antiviral, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory product
